Even though we have been focusing on our new home in our new hood – Capitol Hill will always have a place in our less than threes. Every time we go back there is something new to see and do. As Capitol Hill becomes even more popular and populated it’s great to see a few small businesses fill out the few nooks and crannies left.
Here are three Capitol Hill small business opening in this weekend that we will surely be checking out. Congrats to the owners on their new venture and their creative approaches to space design!
Kurt Farm Shop
Kurt Timmermeister is an author, farmer and soon will be a Capitol Hill shop owner. His 300 sq. ft space, which sounds about the size of a tie stall barn, will be scooping out fresh from the farm ice cream. If your looking for ice cream that’s all fresh and no frills you’ll want to stop by this weekend.
Nisha Kelen is also opening shop on Chophouse Row, in an even smaller space (280 sq ft)! Fitting to the small space and likely urban dweller market of Capitol Hill residents, Kelen will be featuring ‘a trove of garden inspired treasures.’ The shop was the first non-food and beverage space to be announced for the project but they will be having garden cocktails and treats on their opening this Friday!
Ritual House open house weekend will take place in their studio space, designed by goCStudio. They are also hosting a chance to stretch your limbs and lend a hand, with a Karma Yoga for Nepal on May 9th.
